ARK CRAFT 620 Has Landed — Australian Design, Now Being Fitted Locally for Sea Trials

She's here. The ARK CRAFT 620 has officially arrived in Australia — and the next chapter of her build journey is about to begin.
This is a milestone moment for ARK Boat Sales, and we wanted to bring you behind the scenes to share exactly what's happening and what comes next.
The Build Story So Far
Designed in Australia
The ARK CRAFT 620 was conceived, designed, and engineered right here in Australia. Every dimension, every structural decision, every feature was shaped by the demands of Australian boating — our coastline, our conditions, our fishers, and our families.
We know what Australian waters demand. Offshore swells off the NSW coast. The tropical chop of Far North Queensland. The tidal estuaries of the Hawkesbury. The ARK CRAFT 620 was designed to handle all of it.
Welded in Asia
The hull was fabricated by a specialist marine aluminum welding facility in Asia — a partner chosen for their precision, their experience with marine-grade aluminum, and their ability to execute our exacting Australian specifications to the millimetre.
This is a model that works. World-class fabrication capability, combined with Australian design intelligence and quality oversight. The result is a hull that meets — and exceeds — the structural standards we demand.
Now in Australia — The Final Build Phase Begins
The Defender 620 has now cleared the port and is being transported to our local facility. This is where the boat truly comes to life.
Over the coming weeks, our Australian team will be completing:
- Engine installation — fitting the Mercury outboard and completing all mechanical connections
- Electronics fitout — installing the navigation systems, chartplotter, VHF radio, fish finder, and switch control panel
- Electrical systems — wiring the cabin lighting, navigation lights, bilge pump, battery switch, and all onboard electrics
- Interior finishing — fitting the helm seat, navigator seat, berth cushions, and cabin fittings
- Final inspection — a comprehensive pre-water quality check before she hits the water
Sea Trials Ahead
Once the fitout is complete, the ARK CRAFT 620 will undergo a full program of sea trials. We don't put a boat in front of a customer until we've put it through its paces ourselves — testing performance, handling, systems reliability, and comfort across a range of conditions.
Sea trials are where the engineering meets reality. And we're confident the ARK CRAFT 620 is going to impress.
